It’s that time of the year again! I will be hosting the local Syracuse version of the Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Ton. This years event will be held on Saturday, October 2 beginning at 10:00am at the STARS (Syracuse Thunderbirds Aero Radio Society) flying field in Phoenix, NY. This event is being held to help celebrate the 14th Annual Worldwide Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon sponsored by the ‘Brotherhood of the Ring‘. The goal is to have as many pilots as possible record as many Ringmaster flights as possible in order to help contribute to this worldwide event. With that said, the real goal is to have as much fun as possible flying Ringmaster planes with other like-minded flyers!
During the Syracuse event, the STARS facility will have beverages for sale at reasonable prices. There are also outhouse facilities provided at the field.
The long range weather forecast for flying is unknown at this point but temps are usually in the mid-60’s in early October. Last year, we had some great weather and we’re hoping for a repeat this year!
Everyone is invited to come and fly Ringmasters…bring any version you may have. If someone does not have a Ringmaster, I will be providing one for anyone to fly. If interested, let me know and I can provide additional details. I can be contacted through this link: Contact
I have attached a flyer with all the information needed for anyone to participate in this event no matter where in the world you live. We are trying to set another world record for number of flights so please consider joining in!
As always, this Syracuse flight session will NOT be exclusively for Ringmasters as this flying session will also be BYOP (Bring Your Own Plane). On my end, I plan to do the maiden flight of the restored Bill Good Sterling P-51 Mustang which was the topic of a recent FlyBoyz post which you can read here: A Good Mustang. So if you have some other plane you’d like to fly, bring it!
