Despite the one-day rain delay causing a bit of reduced attendance, the 2nd Annual STARS Control Line Fun-Fly featured great flying weather and a full day of Control Line (CL) flying fun for all who showed up. In total, 4 flying circles handled almost a dozen flyers with all their planes. There are a variety of photos down below which highlight some of the action throughout the day.
The biggest highlight of the day was the Stunt Pattern Tracing conducted by Andrey and Jerry Vasilik. Andrey has developed a pattern tracing system which he has been refining over the past several years. He had the latest version of it up and running at the CL Fun Fly. The system tracks and traces the path of the plane within a virtual 3D flight space. Pre-defined stunt pattern flying forms are superimposed on the video and adjusted for centering. This is visible in the resulting video. The resulting video allows pilots to see where their pattern flying is good and where it can use some improvement.
Andrey has provided the following video which shows Bruce Jennings flying the pattern during the event. Enjoy the video and the Fun Fly photos below!

Despite the weather delay, everyone agreed that the day of the event was exceptional for flying and everyone enjoyed themselves. Plans are already underway for next years 3rd Annual STARS Control Line Fun-Fly!
